Dr. Sandra Bird of Kennesaw State University, and Dr. Mona Mohamed Ibrahim Hussein from the University of Alexandria of Egypt answer questions from Butler County and Glasgow high school students about the paintings, metal works, textiles and other art pieces in their “Sisters on the Bridge: Islamic Art of Resilience and Empathy exhibit at the Downing Museum on Morgantown Road during a school visit. As well as instructed “Metal Workshop” with students to create their own works.

The exhibit, which aims to show the many facets of Islamic art and culture, is comprised of art produced by Hussein and Bird, as well as Dr. Miwon Choe of Western Kentucky University and other international artists.
